Ana Idoitu (National Youth Council, Moldova) has provided civil-society perspectives on the topics of digitalisation, overcoming inequalities in the context of development goals, and sustainable economy for people at the PFD Task Team meeting two months ahead of the Global Policy Forum on Development (PFD).

During January’s Task Team meeting, the team members discussed the final structure of the agenda for the PFD. The participants finalised the framing of the sessions and key questions to be addressed. The EaP CSF representative contributed further to the preparatory work on the topics of digitalisation, overcoming inequalities in the context of development goals, and sustainable economy for people. In the process of preparing inputs for the global meeting, the EaP CSF representative will carry out an internal consultation about the input to the EU’s Multiannual Indicative Programmes in February. The attendants debated how the EU responds to development issues. Discussions have included: progress toward the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS), the fight against inequalities, climate change, poverty reduction, building resilience and how to create and preserve an enabling environment for our partners.

The Global Policy Forum on Development (PFD) will take place on March 23 – 26, 2020. On this occasion, civil society organizations from all over the world witll meet with representatives from the EU institutions, including trade unions, cooperatives, women’s organisations, professional and business associations, diaspora groups, foundations, and associations of local authorities. The PFD provides input, advice and best practices to the European Commission and other EU partners in order to develop and implement effective development policies. During this valuable advocacy opportunity, EaP CSF will raise a clear set of development priorities for the Eastern Partnership Region and communicate them forward to the European partners.
