EaP CSF Campaigns

The EaP CSF aims to effectively communicate the civil society positions on democratic reforms and the EaP implementation, and ensure a regular flow of information on civil society expertise to the decision-makers on the EU and EaP national levels. We are campaigning towards the Eastern Partnership as a democratic, prosperous and peaceful region.

#PrepareEaP4Health

The current outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic is a stress test, which reveals many political, economic and societal vulnerabilities of modern societies. At the same time, lessons learnt can be drawn and actions for improvement can be taken already now. This campaign aims to raise awareness of the EU stakeholders to the needs of six EaP countries and their civil societies in order to fight the outbreak of COVID-19. At the same time, we aim to provide EaP citizens with alternative information about the outbreak of COVID-19 and its impact on fundamental rights, economy, social security etc. Check our interactive chart of COVID-19 outbreak in EaP and follow us on Social Media via  #PrepareEaP4Health.

#CivilSocietySays

The 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership policy set a stone for discussions on a future strategic direction of the Eastern Partnership. On March 18, 2020 European Commission released their proposal for the new policy objectives for EaP beyond 2020. The EaP Civil Society Forum will continue to be a key partner in advancing the role of civil society in policy dialogue. In light of the proposed policy objectives, EaP CSF is taking its say to promote further objectives that need to be taken on board. Follow our Social Media campaign under #CivilSocietySays and help us spread our messages.

#10yearstogether

2019 marks 10 years of the existence of the Eastern Partnership initiative, a policy that aims to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union, its member states and its six Eastern neighbours: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Within this policy, there is a joint commitment of the EU, EU member states and the six EaP countries to deliver tangible changes for citizens across the region. In this context, the #10YearsTogether campaign reflected on the development of the six EaP countries in the past 10 years.

Human Rights and Freedoms

EaP CSF fills an important niche as a “watchdog” of democratic transformation in the EaP countries. Human rights and basic democratic freedoms such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and many more, remain high on the agenda of the EaP CSF. In 2019, EaP CSF followed closely the case of Mehman Huseynov, who went on hunger strike in protest against renewed criminal proceedings based on fabricated charges. Our cooperation with human rights organisations and the European Parliament resulted in adoption of the “Resolution on Azerbaijan, notably the case of Mehman Huseynov”.
