(English) Eastern Partnership Youth Conference 2018: “Youth for Entrepreneurship”

Jul 10, 2018 |

The applications are closed – successful candidates have been contacted.

The Eastern Partnership Youth Conference 2018: “Youth for Entrepreneurship” will bring +130 participants – including 90 young entrepreneurs, in one place to develop new skills, ideas and solutions to shared challenges. The Conference is organised by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) on 8-9 November in Vienna, Austria  with the support of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2018 and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Regional Office «Dialogue Eastern Europe».

This opportunity is open to young people, between 18-30 – coming from the Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the European Union, Russia and Turkey, who are looking to start a social or business enterprise in their own, widely-defined communities. Applications will be reviewed on the formal selection criteria, as well as answers to the application questionnaire.

Candidates from the Eastern Partnership countries only: Before attending the Conference, successful applicants will take part in the Social Entrepreneurship School  in Armenia, 24-30 September for those coming from Armenia, Georgia and Moldova or in Ukraine, 1-7 October for those coming from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine. The purpose of the School is to boost the attendants’ entrepreneurial skills, employability and build on their involvement in their communities’ economic life.

The idea of the Conference came from EaP CSF’s previous work and commitments, especially EaP Platform 4 «Mobility and People to People Contacts» and Deliverable 18 of the EaP 20 Deliverables for 2020. The European Union promotes entrepreneurship as a key competence that can boost competitiveness and growth, with added emphasis on education and skills. Increasingly, entrepreneurship and self-employment are seen as pathways for young people to advance their careers and come out of unemployment.

It will be the second Eastern Partnership Youth Conference after “Youth for Rights” in 2016, which took place in Bratislava, Slovakia. It was also organised by EaP CSF, with the support from the Slovak Presidency in the Council of the European Union and European Commission. The Conference brought together 145 young human rights activists from the Eastern Partnership countries, Russia, Turkey and the EU.

17 August 2018: deadline for applications from the Eastern Partnership countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

1 September 2018: deadline for applications from the European Union, Russia and Turkey.

Start of September-October 2018: successful candidates notified of the outcome of their applications.

The costs of 90 selected participants will be fully covered by the organisers.
